Another PS5/PS4 Multiplayer Game Shutting Down, Bringing 2025’s Total to 3

2025 isn’t off to a good start for multiplayer games as another PS5, PS4 title is shutting its servers down for good. Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Re:Verse, which comes packaged with copies of Resident Evil Village across all platforms, will go offline in June.

Last year, Ubisoft announced that it’ll sunset XDefiant in June, and just last week, WB Games announced that MultiVersus will switch off its servers by May 30. Resident Evil Re:Verse is the third game to follow suit.

“Resident Evil Re:Verse was developed in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, and your overwhelming support for the game has far exceeded our expectations since the time of its release,” reads a statement from Capcom. “Now that we’ve reached a new turning point for the series, we feel that Resident Evil Re:Verse has served its original, celebratory purpose admirably.”

Capcom apologized for the “disappointing news,” and added that effective March 3, Resident Evil Re:Verse will no longer be available to download and its paid DLC will be removed from online storefronts. However, those who have a download code for Re:Verse from a prior purchase will still be able to download the application until service ends.
