Okay that contractor cut blocking to replace valve?
Just wanted to ask as I have trouble trusting contractors these days. Had to get this valve replaced and they cut some of the blocking (at least, I think that’s what it is, I’m no expert) to get into the space. There was already a hole here - they cut where the red lines are. I’m assuming that this is okay structurally, right? It seems relatively minor but want to make sure. There is a vertical stud right behind the wall on the right side of the gap, and maybe 1-2 feet (?) to the left of the gap.
