PSN Has Been Down All Night, Players Upset

PSN has been down since Friday evening/night or early morning Saturday, depending on where on the globe you’re located. All network services have been down for well over ten hours now, leaving players frustrated.

Sony under criticism as PSN remains down

It initially took Sony quite some time to acknowledge the outage, following which PlayStation server status page was updated to note that all services are down worldwide. This means that folks in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand have been unable to play for much of Saturday, and they’re understandably unhappy.

The following PSN services are down at the time of this writinf:

• Account management
• Gaming and social
• PlayStation Video
• PlayStation Store
• PlayStation Direct

Considering a large number of players have digital libraries that sometimes require license verification, a significant number of folks won’t be able to play any games at all.

It’s nearly 4 p.m. on my end, and I’ve accepted that I won’t be able to level up in Battlefield V today. I guess I’ll go do some groceries and build that Lego Concorde that’s been sitting on my table for nearly a month now.
