The “Clayface” Film May Have A Director?

A new report has claimed that filmmaker James Watkins is in talks to direct the “Clayface” movie currently in the works at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures.

Scooper MyTimeToShineH is the one who broke the report, a report the trades and the studio have not yet confirmed so take it with a grain of salt for now.

Watkins broke onto the scene with the utterly brutal British horror film “Eden Lake” starring Michael Fassbender, Kelly Reilly and Jack O’Connell.

He followed that up with the more supernatural-centric remake of “The Woman in Black” starring Daniel Radcliffe”. More recently he directed last year’s well-received “Speak No Evil” remake with James McAvoy.

Here he’ll be helming from a script by the great Mike Flanagan (“Doctor Sleep,” “Midnight Mass,” “The Fall of the House of Usher”) in what has been dubbed a “standalone tragedy-laced horror/thriller”.

Flanagan isn’t doing it himself due to his commitments to directing a new “The Exorcist” film at Universal and developing a “Carrie” TV series for Amazon MGM Studios.

Clayface is mostly known via Ron Perlman’s performance in the 1990s “Batman: The Animated Series” along with animated series like “Harley Quinn” and “Creature Commandos” – in both cases voiced by Alan Tudyk.
