‘I quit’ – Logan Paul made astonishing backstage WWE exit threat after vow over The Rock at Royal Rumble

Logan Paul made plenty of headlines at WWE’s Royal Rumble but stopped short of one major bombshell in quitting the company altogether. The Maverick was the 30th and final entrant into the men’s Rumble match in Indianapolis, joining a stacked line-up including the likes of CM Punk, Seth Rollins, John Cena and Roman Reigns. Logan Paul is back in the swing of things in WWE after missing the final months of 2024WWE Sadly for Paul, he was eliminated from the bout by Cena as his plans for a dream WrestleMania world title match were left in tatters, admittedly not without some controversy. Earlier this week, plenty were laying the blame at the influencer’s feet for a part of the match that went horribly wrong – Drew McIntyre’s high-profile elimination from the match not playing out correctly due to a collision in the ring between the Scot, Damian Priest, Paul and LA Knight. That left McIntyre ‘screaming’ in a rage backstage and many fingers pointed immediately to Paul – seemingly because he’s so often the villain of the on-screen piece in WWE. Reports later claimed, however, that he wasn’t to blame and that Knight was supposedly irked McIntyre. Paul far from endured an uneventful night of it, however. He had to check in on pal ISHOWSPEED after his nasty wipe-out at the hands of Bron Breakker and Otis and went on to perform an eye-catching stunt where he initially avoided elimination by leaping on to the commentary table at ringside. The former United States Champion was in a fighting mood backstage before the show even began, too. Rumours had been swirling online prior to the Rumble – as they so often do – that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would show up in Indianapolis to star at the show. Rock is a Director of TKO – WWE’s parent company – and is typically known to call the shots in terms of when and how he’s used in a wrestling capacity. One fan theory had Rock down as entering at number 30 – the spot Logan had – and the 29-year-old was far from happy with that idea. In a video shared on his own YouTube channel, he went as far as to state he’d leave WWE if such a plan was dropped on him at the last minute. He insisted: “If Dwayne Johnson comes and tries to take my 30 spot, straight up, I am going straight to the boss. “I’m calling Nick Khan and I’m saying: ‘Dude, I quit.’” Khan is WWE’s President, but he didn’t need to take Logan’s call as Johnson didn’t appear, and the grappler was able to strut his stuff in the famed final Rumble entrant slot. Sadly for Paul, he was eliminated from the bout by Cena as his plans for a dream WrestleMania world title match were left in tatters, admittedly not without some controversy.
