IHG One Rewards 1,000 Bonus Virgin Australia Velocity Miles per Stay Through April 30, 2025 (Book By February 21)

IHG has launched a partner offer for Virgin Australia Velocity member stays in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific through April 30, 2025.

Velocity members who book a partner rate by February 21 can earn 1,000 bonus miles in addition to the base miles for stays.

Note that you must change your IHG One Rewards earning preference to partner points/miles and have Virgin Australia Velocity as your preferred partner.

This offer is only available if you book this specific partner rate. I could not pull it up for any of the hotels I checked for a stay in Australia or New Zealand.

Conclusion

You need to examine the bonus miles rate to determine whether it makes sense, considering the bonus miles it comes with.

I don’t know if there is an issue with IHG uploading these rates, as they didn’t come up with any of the rate searches I executed.

The Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer Travel Bundle Offer  (“Promotion”) is available to individuals who are members of both the IHG One Rewards program and the Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer program (“Eligible Member”). Under the Promotion, bonus Velocity Points (“miles”)  are awarded to Eligible Members for each Qualifying Stay at participating IHG® Hotels & Resorts properties during the Promotion Period (as defined below) where the stay was reserved through the  eligible booking channel and consists of at least two (2) consecutive nights. An Eligible Member may earn 1000 bonus Velocity Points in connection with this Promotion for each eligible booking.  The time needed for awarding miles can vary with each miles promotion, so please allow up to 6 weeks for the bonus miles to be posted to the designated account.

Eligible bookings are those made at participating IHG® Hotels and Resorts through the official Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer Travel Bundle Offer  booking page, which may be accessed using the following link. Only bookings made between 1 February 2025 and 21 February 2025 for Qualifying Stays of at least two (2) consecutive nights, with a check-in date on or after 1 February 2025 and check-out on or before 30 April 2025 (“Promotion Period”), qualify as an eligible booking under the Promotion. Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer members need to be registered as an IHG One Rewards member, and select Virgin Australia | Velocity Frequent Flyer as their earning preference located in their IHG One Rewards My Account, prior to check-in.

Qualifying Stays are stays booked under a Qualifying Rate (as defined in the IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions). Note that multiple checkouts for consecutive nights at the same hotel will count as one (1) Qualifying Stay; non-consecutive qualifying nights at the same hotel may count as separate Qualifying Stays. In the event that two or more Eligible Members check-in to the same room, base miles and any bonus miles under this Promotion will only be credited to the account of the Eligible Member who made the booking. If an Eligible Member books more than one room at a hotel for the same or overlapping nights, they will receive bonus miles for this Promotion on only one of the bookings that qualify. No bonus miles will be awarded under this Promotion based on nights stayed prior to or after the Promotion Period.
