FRANCE. Lagardère Travel Retail has partnered with SNCF Gares & Connexions, the French railway station management company, and supermarket specialist Carrefour to introduce local food offers at stations across the country.
The leading retailer aims to launch 150 stores by 2030, including Carrefour Express outlets ranging in size from 80 to 400sq m, alongside Click & Collect lockers for quick shopping.
The project will bring in concepts such as Potager City, offering locally sourced produce, and Api, a self-service mini market.
Lagardère plans to provide passengers and locals with convenient access to everyday food, with a focus on accessible solutions tailored to their needs.
Lagardère Travel Retail noted: “This partnership illustrates a shared vision: to transform stations into real places to live, combining innovation, durability and essential services.
“At Lagardère Travel Retail, we are proud to use our retail expertise in high-flow areas to meet the growing expectations of a changing world.
“A big thank you to our Carrefour and Gares & Connexions partners for this collaboration, and to all our internal teams for their commitment and know-how.”
