The two-time Stanley Cup winner had been day-to-day since sitting out Thursday’s win over the Ottawa Senators with an upper-body injury.
Cirelli, 27, is slated to be on Team Canada’s roster for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off, but his availability came into question after missing the team’s Thursday morning skate.
He has earned his spot alongside Canada’s best, scoring 19 goals and registering 21 assists for the Lightning, through 51 games played this season.
Canada’s captain, Sidney Crosby, is also in jeopardy of missing the event after sitting out the Pittsburgh Penguins’ win over the New York Rangers on Friday with an upper-body injury.
