SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has unfurled an array of promotions along with special exhibitions in celebration of the upcoming Valentine’s Day (14 February).

Until that day, Lotte Internet Duty Free is hosting a ‘Happy Valentine’ exhibition curated by the Merchandise Directors of various product categories.

A total of 133 brands have participated, ranging from chocolate, coffee, wine and Champagne labels to perfume, fashion, watches and jewellery.

Chocolate brands include Belgian houses Guylian and Godiva while fast-growing Bacha Coffee – exclusive to Lotte Duty Free in Korean travel retail – is another attraction, offering the Singapore-based brand’s Adventure Coffee Bag Taster gift set.

Customers who purchase Guylian products at Lotte Internet Duty Free before 28 February will receive a free chocolate gift based on the purchase amount.

Noting alcoholic beverages have been the most popular category purchased by male customers in their 20s and 30s over the past three months, Lotte Duty Free said several leading brands including Louis Roederer Champagne, French sparkling wine brand Golden Blanc, and Italian winery Antinori are participating.

In addition, K-beauty products Tamburins and Nonfiction, as well as various popular niche perfumes including  Trudon and Acqua di Parma, and fashion brands Vivienne Westwood, Hazzys and Jill Stuart are taking part.

Promotions include prize draws for customers while in response to an unfavourable Korean Won currency rate, Lotte Duty Free’s downtown stores will give away up to KRW1.24 million (US$857) in LDF PAY on weekdays and up to KRW1.45 million (US$1,002) on weekends, depending on the payment method, until 28 February.

Lotte Internet Duty Free will also provide special points as exchange rate compensation.

The retailer will host an event from 11 February to 6 March for first-time customers, offering PRE-LDF PAY that can be used at all offline stores, as well as membership level upgrades, Star Lounge passes and airport pick-up express benefits.

Lotte Duty Free will hold an ‘Everything about Guam Travel with Lotte Duty Free’ promotion until 9 March, featuring a raffle draw for customers who spend more than US$200 online and leave a comment. Several prizes are on offer including a return flight to Guam and accommodation for two plus Lotte Duty Free points.

A Lotte Duty Free spokesperson said, “We have prepared various promotions to give our customers a special experience in celebration of the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
