Madonna did a surprise Comedy Cellar set
This was not the Material Girl’s first time at the intimate Greenwich Village comedy club.
Like she has in the past, Madonna made an appearance at NYC’s Comedy Cellar over the weekend. The Sun reports that she did a half hour stand-up set, via an insider:
She did well enough, but the audience was so stunned it was Madonna that it took them the entire set to warm up to her…
She also nailed a joke about how with all of these Trump deportations she’s not going to have any staff left, which got some laughs, but really everyone was just so shocked she was there.
The Sun also reports that Amy Schumer brought her to the intimate NYC club, which has strict recording policies (thus the lack of video footage), and that Madonna was seen that night with her boyfriend, Akeem Morris.
This was not Madonna’s first time doing stand-up at the comedy cellar; in 2017 she took the stage along with Schumer, Aziz Ansari, Jon Stewart, Pete Holmes, and Louis CK.
She’s also been in the news recently after posting on social media, “it’s so sad to watch our new Government slowly dismantling all the Freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the years. Don’t give up the Fight!”
