Ken Pomeroy, a rising Oklahoma singer/songwriter of Native Cherokee heritage, has announced a new album, Cruel Joke, due May 16 via Rounder Records (pre-order). It was written alone, produced by her musical partner Dakota McDaniel, Gary Paczosa (John Prine, Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton, etc) and Colton Jean, and features one guest, John Moreland, who appears on the recently-released “Coyote.” Today brings the album’s fourth single, “Stranger,” a gorgeous, bare-bones country-folk song that stops you in your tracks with little more than Ken’s voice and acoustic guitar. Ken has also announced some tour dates, including SXSW and a Brooklyn show on May 21 at Baby’s All Right. All dates are listed below.
