PlayAsia Said USPS China and Hong Kong Issues Won’t Affect It

PlayAsia issued an update on its official blog and social media accounts that stated the issues regarding the US Postal Service and China and Hong Kong won’t affect people who buy import games, figures, or merchandise from the store. However, due to USPS China and Hong Kong issues, you can’t select EMS shopping as an option when buying from the company.  The reason this came up is that the headquarters for PlayAsia are in Hong Kong and, while it does offer some digital purchases, it primarily deals in physical games, music, magazines, and merchandise that would be potentially be shipped via USPS to the US. After checking and experimenting with cart additions, it is still possible to get free Economy shipping on PlayAsia if someone hits the monetary requirement on eligible products.  Here’s the full statement from the company’s Facebook account.  As a reminder, PlayAsia is the exclusive way to get physical copies of certain games, with one of them being the recent PS5 rerelease of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Initially, the USPS announced that as of February 4, 2025, all China and Hong Kong Post package acceptance would be suspended as a result of the tariffs in place due to President Donald Trump and China’s response. However on February 5, 2025, the official government site walked back that announcement and stated that it would continue take and deliver packages from both post offices. There’s no word yet on when PlayAsia will resume EMS shipping. The post PlayAsia Said USPS China and Hong Kong Issues Won’t Affect It appeared first on Siliconera.
