The recent transformation of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth’s event spaces stands to raise the bar when it comes to hosting events and conferences in the city.

The hotel unveiled the results of its $70 recent million refurbishment which merges heritage with innovation, setting a new benchmark for sophisticated events, entertainment, and world-class conferences.

The extensive transformation includes cutting-edge technology, sophisticated design, and a commitment to sustainability, ensuring an unmatched event experience. 

Hotel general manager Sam Panetta said of the refurbishment: “At Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, we are redefining the art of luxury conferencing. Our commitment to innovation and excellence ensures that every event is an unforgettable experience, supported by the latest technology and world-class services.”

What can guests expect at these revitalised venues?

With 2,590m² (27,883 ft²) of events space, including the iconic Wentworth Ballroom, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers an unparalleled setting for business events, media launches, private dining, and weddings. 

Among the enhancements made during the refurbishment were:

• A multi-million dollar investment in state-of-the-art technology by in-venue event production partner Encore; 
• One of Sydney’s largest LED screens 5m x 3m in the Wentworth Ballroom, which can be split into 3 x 5.5m x 3m screens on a rolling track for further versatility of room configuration;
• Advanced digital screens and LED upgrades throughout all meeting spaces, featuring crystal-clear sound systems, customised lighting solutions and the latest staging technology;
• Installed, AI-powered cameras with wireless connectivity; and 
• Mobile 135” all in one LED presentation screens.

At the same time, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth champions sustainable hospitality practices, incorporating eco-friendly initiatives throughout the hotel; these will also be part of the operations of the refreshed events facilities.

These revitalised spaces will be under the helm of  conference and events director Robyn Davison.
