The 10 Biggest Footwear Moments From Paris Fashion Week FW25

Footwear is rarely the highlight of a Fashion Week presentation. After all, it’s more about the transcendent skill of designers, and the jaw-dropping spectacle of its shows. However, Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2025 Men’s boasted plenty of exciting reveals across its runways and showrooms. Looking back at designers’ sneaker highlights, we have a complete list of the 10 most exciting moments -- from high-powered collaborations to bold new silhouettes.

Willy Chavarria x adidas

Willy Chavarria went all out for his first-ever runway show at Paris Fashion Week. The American designer’s well-received showcase featured collaborative silhouettes with adidas, adding to the duo’s special merch collection that was given away during the week. Looking at the footwear specifically, the Jabbar Low -- which the duo first debuted together last season -- was reworked in two different ways, with one favoring an oversized tongue and chunky shape while the other took on a much more narrow, dress-inspired build. The Forum also made an appearance in two distinct forms. One pair was converted into a military boot while the other donned a pointed toe and sizable heel.

Doublet x Kids Love Gaite Derby

Doublet’s showcase for FW25 tapped into a villainous spirit -- putting an ominous twist on its typically whimsical design language. Present throughout many of the runway’s looks was a special Kids Love Gaite derby. The duo’s eye-catching shoe flips the old business in the front, party in the back adage on its head as its toe has been modified to create the mouth of a monster. This element sees hardware represent teeth while the mouth’s opening reveals a red layer underneath.

Louis Vuitton ButterSoft Sneaker

Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week is guaranteed to be a spectacle. A standout part of Pharrell’s new, Nigo-assisted collection was the ButterSoft sneaker, which Skateboard P had teased just days before on Instagram. Over 40 colorways of the part-Ice Cream Boardflip, part-Nike Cortez sneaker were revealed, making it clear that the model will be a key part of the brand’s deliveries later this year.

COMME des GARÇONS Collaborations

Rei Kawakubo’s esteemed vision has led to the creation of many different COMME des GARÇONS sub-labels and diffusion lines, with several of them presenting new footwear collaborations for FW25. Kids Love Gaite made another appearance with its latest CdGH+ collaboration, creating boots and derbies that feature a toe that points upwards sharply. CdGH+ and BLACK CdG both worked closely with Nike, taking on the Air Rejuven8 and Field General 82 respectively. Junya Watanabe MAN, also under the greater CdG umbrella, continued its partnership with New Balance by presenting two takes on the 471 sneaker, while CdGH similarly teamed up with the brand to outfit the 509 in two of its own looks. CdG Shirt then rounded things out with an all-white rendition of the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14.

Song for the Mute x adidas

Australia’s Song for the Mute has been on a roll with adidas, connecting for unique apparel and footwear season after season. Their latest unveiling brought forth two new sneaker silhouettes reworked by the brand -- the Taekwondo Mei and the Adizero PR. Both appear in a trio of colorways that each come with the duo’s typical co-branded tongue tag.

POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) Collaborations

POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) and On earned the Hypebeast100 award for best sneaker collaboration of the year in 2024 with their Cloudmonster 2. For those who have been eager for more, here you have it. More tasteful takes on the sneaker were accompanied by another Cloudventure Peak colorway, indicating that the pairing has plenty more to come. PAF also went on to tease two monochromatic takes on Clarks’ Wallabee Boot, giving it new stitching at its upper.

sacai x UGG

sacai is back with UGG for FW25 -- the two first worked together in 2018 with a modest range that included a version of the Classic Mini with knit socks rising from its collar. This time around, the duo has taken things to the next level with three distinct silhouettes. Thigh-high boots with sheepskin lining can be styled in many different ways thanks to a buckle system that allows it to fold downward with ease. The Mountain Boots -- which, though their name may indicate otherwise, are not built for hiking -- feature sheepskin across the tongue that rests beneath the heavy-duty lacing system. A loafer rounds out the range with sheepskin detailing and a platform sole.

Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS

We’re in year eight of Kiko Kostadinov’s partnership with ASICS and the two show no signs of slowing down. His latest works with the brand were, once again, prominently included on the runway, this time revealing two tabi silhouettes in three colorways each. The first is a tall boot that is secured via a strap system that reaches around the shaft. The other design sees the same split-toe detail included on a low-top runner with “ASICS” script at the lateral midfoot. Color compositions for both range from brown and green to blue and black, as well as all-black.

AURALEE x New Balance T500

Ryota Iwai’s AURALEE returned to Paris Fashion Week with another tasteful range of elevated everyday silhouettes and another New Balance footwear collaboration. Hot off of the release of their two 990v4s, with a project featuring the 475 to come later this season, FW25 looks to the T500. Two colorways of the 1982 tennis sneaker have been put together, offering off-white leather atop one pair and a mixed material build in chocolate brown with cream “N” branding at the medial for the other. Per usual, the two have kept this collaboration an if-you-know-you-know affair by limiting the AURALEE branding to the sockliner.

Rick Owens Chain-Linked Kiss Boots

Paris Fashion Week wouldn’t be complete without a wild evolution of Rick Owens’ footwear offerings. His ever-popular high-heeled Kiss Boots stood even taller as they were draped in a chain-linked feather pattern designed by Victor Clavelly and engineered by Straytukay, the designer responsible for the hoof-like latex boots that went viral during the Rick Owens’ FW24 show a year ago. Presented in plain monochromatic looks of black and off-white, Owens lets the silhouette speak for itself.
