New $499 JetBlue Premium Credit Card: Perks Revealed

In September 2024, JetBlue made some exciting announcements. The airline revealed plans to open airport lounges, which is something that has been rumored for years. The lounges will be located in New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS), and we’ll see the first opening in late 2025.

As part of this announcement, JetBlue also revealed plans to launch a premium credit card. It would appear that the perks of this new card have just been leaked.

What we know about JetBlue’s premium credit card

JetBlue has co-branded cards issued by Barclays, and currently the company’s portfolio consists of three cards — there are $99 annual fee personal and business cards, plus a no annual fee personal card. Soon that portfolio will be expanded, with the addition of a fourth card.

So far, JetBlue has officially revealed very little about its new credit card, other than to say that details will be announced soon, and that it will offer access to JetBlue’s new airport lounges. Premium credit cards have of course become incredibly popular nowadays, and they come in a couple of primary forms:

While all of the “big three” US carriers have premium co-branded credit cards, we haven’t yet seen such a card from a smaller US airline, so JetBlue will be the smallest US airline to have a premium card like this (in the meantime, Alaska has also announced plans to launch a premium credit card). Along similar lines, the only premium airline credit card we’ve seen issued by Barclays is the co-branded Emirates product.

JetBlue is introducing a premium credit card

JetBlue Premier Card perks leaked on website

A Reddit user shares how JetBlue briefly updated its website to show the perks of its new premium credit card. Before we discuss this, let me mention that the details have since been removed, so it’s anyone’s guess if this is the final product or not. However, this did look very official.

It would be appear that the new card will be called the JetBlue Premier Card, and it will:

  • Have a $499 annual fee
  • Offer 6x points on JetBlue and Paisly purchases, 2x points at restaurants and grocery stores, and 1x points on other purchases
  • Offer a Priority Pass membership; while it’s not explicitly stated in the marketing bullets, presumably it will also offer access to JetBlue’s new lounges
  • Offer up to $300 in statement credits on Paisly purchases each calendar year
  • Offer a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee credit of up to $120 every four years
  • Offer Group A boarding on JetBlue flights
  • Offer a free first checked bag free on JetBlue flights

I suspect that this does in fact reflect the details of the card that JetBlue intends to launch. I can’t say I’m really blown away by the product, though that’s not to say the card won’t make sense for many. A few thoughts:

  • The marketing bullets state that spending counts toward Mosaic status, though my hope is that spending on the card counts toward status at a faster pace than on the more basic cards
  • There’s no mention of the welcome bonus, so of course that’s a major consideration
  • For those not familiar with Paisly, this is a platform through which you can book hotels, rental cars, etc.; so I suppose that’ll offer some value, though there may be an opportunity cost for many
  • There’s no mention of a 10% rebate on redemptions, as you’ll find with the more basic cards, so the lack of that is a bit disappointing

So yeah, I’d say this card seems pretty average, based on what we know so far. Maybe there’s more to it that hasn’t been revealed so far. I don’t think this’ll be a card that will be a no brainer for everyone, but instead, I suspect this card will be worth it for those who are JetBlue loyalists, and who value access to JetBlue lounges.

The perks of JetBlue’s new card have been leaked

Bottom line

JetBlue plans to introduce a new premium credit card in the near future. The airline hasn’t formally announced details of the perks. However, we have seen the perks leaked briefly on JetBlue’s website, which suggests the card will have a $499 annual fee. For that, cardmembers will get a Priority Pass membership, a $300 annual Paisly credit, Group A boarding, a free checked bag, and more.

What do you make of the potential benefits of JetBlue’s new premium credit card?
