SCREAM 7 Will Feature "The Most Brutal Ghostface"
It sounds like Scream 7 is going to take the Ghostface killer to another level, as it’s said it will feature “the most brutal Ghostface.”This new little detail comes from Mason Gooding, who will play Chad Meeks-Martin for a third time in the franchise. While a guest on the podcast, I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario, he said:“This is the most brutal Ghostface I think there’s ever been from an anatomically logistical standpoint. There’s a lot of blood and viscera, and I feel like with Kevin Williamson directing, fans have a lot to look forward to with what we do with these characters.”Ghostface consistently seems to get more and more violent, with the last film seeing him wield a shotgun, which was a first. It will be interesting to see what Williamson has got up his sleeve for this next movie. The movie stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Scott Foley, Matthew Lillard, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.Franchise newcomers include Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband, Ethan Embry, Isabel May, Mason Gooding, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor and Asa Germann.I love that Embry is joining this franchise! He’s going to fit right in with it. I’m actually surprised that he was never cast in any of the previous films. It’ll be interesting to see who he plays in this new movie. It’s said that the next chapter of Scream will involve a "big time jump" following the events of the last movie. This is so that Sidney's children have grown to an appropriate slasher movie age.It was also previously reported that Scream 7 "will have two main storylines, one about Sid and her friends from the neighborhood, and the second one about Sid's teen daughter Taylor (could be a codename) and her friends. Each of them will have to deal with Ghostface." Sid and Gale will reportedly find themselves facing off with some kind of Ghostface cult.Scream 7 will be directed by Kevin Williamson and released on February 27, 2026.Gooding joins fellow legacy cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, and Jasmin Savoy Brown in the sequel.Isabel May plays Sidney’s daughter. Other franchise newcomers include Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, and Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband.Williamson, writer of the original Scream as well as Scream 2 and Scream 4, is directing the latest installment from a script by Guy Busick, who penned Scream 5 and Scream 6.Plot details are being kept under wraps, of course, but the latest installment in slasher saga is expected to bring the focus back onto Sidney and her family.Currently in production in Atlanta, Scream 7 is scheduled to be released on February 27, 2026 by Paramount Pictures.Gooding takes on another masked killer in Josh Ruben‘s Heart Eyes, in theaters Friday.
