‘Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal. The action adventure also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis.’

Thought? There are some aspects I absolutley loved about this trailer. The 60’s theme is perfect and, if I do say so myself, I suggested it years ago when the Fox deal was first proposed. I really love the look of Ben Grimm, especially the shot of Ben in his hat looking at his former self on TV. This is definitely the first time Ben has looked like he should in live-action for me. I also love what I’ve seen so far of Sue and Reed, though, it’s hard to tell right now. We see Johnny least, but visually all looks great.

As for anything I did not like, well I would not go that far, but Ben’s voice, whilst to be expected just doesn’t yet feel right to me. I think I’m expecting to hear that gruff deep voice from the old cartoons. Still I’m sure actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s take will grow on me, I hope.

Other than that, the small glimpse of Galactus and what we think (rumors) is John Malkovich’s Red Ghost give us the only real plot hints from the film.

I just want to see the film already and judge for myself now.
