House Democratic leaders will hold a press conference Wednesday morning as their GOP colleagues grapple with internal divisions ahead of another looming shutdown.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) has vowed to use the budget fight as a vehicle to block some of President Trump's efforts to gut federal programs and issue tax cuts. The move likely raises the chance of a shutdown, with government funding set to lapse on March 14.
The press conference will be led by House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) and Vice Chair Ted Lieu (D-Calif.).
Their remarks are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EST.
