Electronic Arts and a collective of game development studios dubbed Battlefield Studios gave the first look of the next Battlefield game. Aside from the studios working on it and a very brief glimpse of gameplay, not a whole lot is known about the upcoming first-person shooter. However, as part of the publisher’s third quarter earnings results, we now know the game could be out sooner than we think.

When is the Battlefield 6 release date window?

In the Electronic Arts third quarter results for the 2025 fiscal year report, it was confirmed the next Battlefield entry is expected to release in the 2026 fiscal year. That means, as of right now, the game is slated to release between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026.

“EA unveiled Battlefield Labs, a new initiative allowing player-driven testing and innovation ahead of the franchise’s expected fiscal year 2026 release,” says the report.”

The upcoming project was revealed through the Battlefield Labs announcement, an initiative that allows players to check out Battlefield content as it is being developed. The content will include the game’s typical modes like Conquest and Breakthrough and also feature new ideas the teams want to test out.

“Battlefield Labs is a place for us to test concepts and experiences we’re excited about with you, our players,” read the announcement. “We want our community to play a key role in the future of Battlefield and this is an opportunity for many of you to do just that.”

“This is an unprecedented moment for Battlefield. We will start by testing the pillars of play, like core combat and destruction,” it continued. “Then transition to balance and feedback for our weapons, vehicles and gadgets, ultimately leading to where all these pieces come together in our maps, modes, and squad play.”

Battlefield Studios is made up of four of Electronic Arts’ internal studios: Criterion, Dice, Motive, and Ripple Effect. Players can sign up for playtesting now on the Battlefield website.
