That race saw some decent hurdlers, with Admiral Stewart placing 2nd next time out, Quebecois running on for fourth in Grade 2 company at 20/1 subsequently, and Bill Joyce also running well twice since. If this horse is back to his best after something was clearly amiss two months ago, he’s going to be hard to beat. Roger Pol Great each-way price for a horse that hasn’t got much wrong over fences this season, placing third of five behind Classic King last time having won well on chase debut at Southwell in October. He takes a step up in trip which should suit well as the full brother to Minella Crooner should relish 3m. Tom Lunn’s Horse Racing P/L From November ’24: +64.2pts From May ’24: +218.15pts From July ’23: +430.71pts El Rio A few appeal here as an each-way shot but he has been great this season and could make it three wins from four this season with a decent run here. He’s also receiving plenty of weight from his rivals giving him a solid chance especially if he’s prominent throughout again, dictating the pace. Laganhill Was seven making his debut and despite the late career start he won quite nicely at Haydock to suggest he’s got more to offer. I think the fact he’s this short of a price despite carrying this penalty is encouraging and with Sam Twiston-Davies on board should have a great chance.
