Bryan Cranston Teases Plot Details for 'Malcolm in the Middle' Reboot

Disney+ is set to be the home for the upcoming Malcolm in the Middle revival. Disney has already greenlit four episodes of the comedy which is slated to include the original cast members from Frankie Muniz to Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Justin Berfield, and Christopher Masterson. The original series finished in 2006 after seven seasons and since then, Cranston has wanted to revisit the show. In a conversation with Variety, Cranston revealed, "I've been trying to get this going for 12 years. I was the one poking the bear, going, ‘Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it.'" He added, "Finally, Linwood Boomer, our creator of the show, got tired of me poking him. He came up with some really fun, terrific ideas." Sharing a note on the timeline of the new series, Cranston said, "You are reintroduced to this family. We left the airwaves 20 years ago. All the boys are adults with their own children. It's a different dynamic in that sense — and yet, do things really change with Hal and Lois? I don't know that they do!"The new show follows Muniz's character Malcolm, and his daughter as they are forced to attend Hal and Lois' 40th wedding anniversary party. While multiple supporting cast members from the original cast were announced, Dewey, originally played by Erik Per Sullivan, has been recast with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark. The premiere date for the series has not yet been disclosed.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
