Metal dust in dryer

16 year old world pool duet dryer. I’ve done more repairs on this dryer than I can even remember. Replaced relays. Repaired PCB. Replaced pully/rollers and belt. 14 months ago I had to replace a thermal limiter and even though it wasn’t bad I replaced the heating coil. 3 days ago it stopped heating up. Popped front plate off to check heating coil and see metallic dust everywhere. Tomorrow I’ll take it apart and try to find the source but I have 2 questions. Theories on where it came from? Any chance the presence of metallic dust caused premature failure of heating element. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/Individual_Reach_732 [link] [comments]
