From TikTok to Pop Girl, Addison Rae’s Debut Album Is Here: a Total Main Character Moment

After months teasing her new album (including by flashing the track list on her underwear at Coachella), Addison Rae officially stepped into the spotlight with the release of her debut studio album, Addison. The 12-track project marks a polished pivot for the 24-year-old, transforming her from TikTok’s sweetheart into a bona fide pop provocateur. Crafted with producers Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd, the album leans into glossy synth-pop with a splash of early-2000s drama: think Britney Spears in her blackout era, with just a hint of Lana Del Rey disillusionment.

“Growing up as a dancer was such a natural transition into that sound,” Rae says in a recent interview with Elle. “I was interested in how that music made you feel, and how it made your body move. I think music is mind control; it opens up this portal of energy.”

Standout songs like “Diet Pepsi,” “Aquamarine,” and “High Fashion” channel mall-pop maximalism with a wink, never shying away from emotional mess or pop theatrics. Critics have embraced Addison as one of summer’s surprise gems. The Associated Press dubbed it “the pop album of the summer,” while Pitchfork praised it as a “hyper-glossy pop album” in a review. Online, fans have rallied behind her, flooding social media with edits, lyrics, and album breakdowns, treating the debut like a long-awaited arrival, not just a surprise release.

To celebrate the launch, Rae staged an intimate performance at NYC’s The Box: a pop spectacle dressed up as downtown cabaret. Wearing a flowy bright blue mini dress, she performed tracks from the album beneath a mirrorball, bringing the Y2K fantasy full circle. The show was as electric as it was whimsical, a fitting match for a project that turns emotional labor into an aesthetic.

Addison is available now on digital, CD, and a limited-edition black vinyl with a collectible gatefold and poster. For a debut that could have played it safe, Rae chose to go full throttle, and the result is pure, unapologetic pop fantasy. It's available to stream on all platforms.
