What is Battle Royale Casual in Warzone? New game mode explained

Season three of Black Ops 6 is a transformative one for Call of Duty's battle royale game, Warzone, as it's turning back the clock and bringing back Verdansk and a slew of other long-missed features. Unfortunately, CoD spent the better part of the past few years removing a lot of the features that players liked from the OG Warzone experience back in 2020, and now a lot of it is returning. On top of Verdansk, things like classic weapons, floating loot, classic vehicles, 150 player count lobbies, and a whole lot more are coming back. But it's not all old stuff, there is some new content to look forward to, like a new mode called Battle Royale Casual, available on top of returning modes like regular BR, Plunder, Resurgence, and Boot Camp. Here's everything there is to know about the newest additional game mode in BO6 season three for Warzone, Battle Royale Casual. What is Warzone Battle Royale Casual? Image via Activision Battle Royale Casual is a new game mode in Warzone as of Black Ops 6's season three, launching on April 3, 2025. As its name suggests, it's a casual version of the normal playlists, featuring up to 120 AI bots and only 27 other human players. Like the Warzone Boot Camp mode, Treyarch says that "game progression is limited in this mode and results will not count towards or against your stats," so don't worry about sweaties clogging up the leaderboards by farming bots in Verdansk. This mode is all about casually playing for some fun, exploration, or education, if you'd like to bring in a friend who hasn't played Warzone before and show them the ropes. "Whether you’re warming up, want a Battle Royale match that isn’t quite as intense as facing off against 149 human opponents, or need to build up your confidence, Battle Royale Casual is likely the game mode for you," Activision explained. Battle Royale Casual has the same ruleset as regular BR mode, just with the chance for lot less tryhard gamers (and, let's face it, a few hackers) ruining your time. Play it how you want to, because it's basically just a sandbox mode to have fun with. Apart from progression not counting too much and an influx of bots over human players, it's the same old BR experience on Verdansk, so if it's not something that interests you, it can be ignored entirely while the more casual or new players try to have their own fun.
