To mark the event, Valve has enabled fans to support their favorite teams during the Majors with BLAST.tv Austin Major stickers, all available in two variants. 

Stickers alone aren’t the only way to support your favorite Austin Major teams. A Viewer Pass includes a coin to upgrade through playing the Pick’Em challenge. While the Major is running, the pass also features unlimited team graffiti.

Nobody wants controversy to mark a spectacular esports event, but such an incident ignited earlier this month with some critical Blast Austin Major news: BLAST announced that team BESTIA would no longer compete at the Majors, stating South American Major Regional Qualifiers, Legacy, would take the slot. 

While BLAST stated that BESTIA was “unable to secure the required U.S. visas for a sufficient number of eligible players”, BESTIA founder Alejandro “Papo MC” Lococo responded that the team would “have all its documentation to play”.

As the controversy continued, BLAST clarified that two BESTIA players did not have the required visas by the necessary deadline on May 21, and that the team would be replaced. Adding to the controversy and public backlash, it’s reportedly unclear whether visa deadlines are covered in any area of the Austin Major 2025 Rulebook. 

Nonetheless, Legacy has taken BESTIA’s spot, with BESTIA threatening legal action against BLAST. 

BLAST Austin is the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, the offline Austin Major CS2 tournament, takes place across three qualification stages and a Playoffs in front of a live audience at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. 

The stages begin on June 3, running to June 15, where the teams qualifying for the Playoffs will meet to determine the winning team. The BLAST Austin Major prize pool is a total of $1.25 million, while the winner will take $500,000.

BLAST Austin is one of the biggest CS2 events and CS tournaments in esports, playing host to top teams and CS2 pros from around the world, while thrilling live and online audiences. 

BLAST Austin is set to kick off on June 3 at Austin’s Moody Center for a highlight of the CS2 calendar. The pre-event news has been marked by an unsightly controversy, seeing the Argentinian team BESTIA replaced by Brazil’s Legacy. Nonetheless, BLAST is set to provide plenty of action and enjoyment for CS2 fans throughout June.
