dbrand Puts its Nintendo Switch 2 'Killswitch' Case Up for Pre-Order

This week, Nintendo revealed the details of its upcoming Switch 2 during an hour-long livestream that appeased fans' appetite for information on the hotly anticipated console and meant third-party manufacturers could finally announce their own accessories for it.One of these, dbrand, has officially put its Switch 2 Killswitch case for up for pre-order, a few weeks after it broke the gaming internet when it launched a sign-up page that didn't leave much to the imagination as to what the (then still unannounced) new Nintendo device looked like. The Killswitch is a simple yet meticulously designed protective case that fits like a second skin. It adds to a device's ergonomics while protecting it from front to back, and the Switch 2 Killswitch has even been designed to keep the console's detachable Joy-Cons safe whether on or off the device. The Switch 2 Killswitch also includes thumb grips that cover the Joy-Cons joysticks for added traction, and a game card holder that seamlessly integrates with the rest of the case. Additionally, the Switch 2 Killswitch comes with a transparent front cover that not only protects the console's display, but essentially negates the need for any other kind of travel accessory by acting as a 360º shield that dbrand says can withstand "over 100lbs" of crush pressure. With each Switch 2 Killswitch, dbrand is also including a custom-built adapter it says "turns your [Switch 2] dock into a display stand", allowing you to take advantage of "uninhibited dock connectivity" with full USB-C passthrough. The Canadian gaming peripherals company originally launched its Killswitch for Valve's Steam Deck. It went on to become the 'gold standard' in the world of portable games console carrying cases and dbrand followed up its original with versions for the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo's recent Legion Go S. This, however, is the first time it has made one for a Nintendo console. The Switch 2 Killswitch is available to reserve now via dbrand's website. Reservations cost $3 with the product's final price being revealed in June. dbrand says this $3 "guarantees priority access at launch" and will go towards what you pay at launch.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
