DIY Pergola -- Anchoring help

I'm looking to build an 11'x10' pergola that doesn't have a solid roof/ceiling. It would have the lattice design to it.. This is going on my back patio that is made out of pavers. I'm trying to decide if I need to remove pavers and pour some concrete in a sonotube to make footings or if I have some alternatives for the size/dimensions of the pergola I'm building. I've seen some examples on YouTube and TikTok of people using planters or buckets filled with concrete to weigh down the posts, but many of the comments say this is very risky because wind could easily displace or damage the pergola. However, all of these builds have been larger than mine or with solid roofs/tops/ceilings. Some research seems to indicate that using sonotubes to make concrete footers is a good way to go, but I'm a little intimidated by taking this project on. Curious what others may think or if anyone has alternative suggestions that I should consider. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/THEorangutangerine [link] [comments]
