Doechii Addresses Her Yelling at Staffers Before the Met Gala

All eyes were on Doechii for her 2025 Met Gala debut Monday night, and needless to say, she delivered, rocking a custom Louis Vuitton suit, dedicated beauty look, and perfect Afro. But an incident from moments before th carpet is making the rounds for the wrong reasons. 

A X/Twitter user posted the now-viral video where Doechii can be heard yelling at members of her team as she tries to depart The Mark Hotel in New York City. The “Anxiety” singer was seemingly in distress because the media swarmed the hotel, and she didn’t want her picture taken before her red carpet debut. In the 34-second clip, Doechii also repeatedly asked for more umbrellas to help conceal her outfit. It’s worth noting that members of Doechii’s team and others can also be heard in the background yelling for more umbrellas and coverage. 

Less than 24 hours after the video was posted, social media users went in on Doechii. Many weren’t happy with how she was addressing her team and labeled her as stuck up. Others have disregarded her behavior as nothing more than an outburst during a highly stressful moment. Some have even gone as far as saying that social media users are overreacting and trying to find a reason to cancel her. The unflattering moment has also prompted conversations surrounding how celebrities treat the people who work for them behind the scenes. But now, Doechii has entered the chat herself. 

The Grammy Award winner took to her TikTok with a lighthearted response to the situation. In the video, she can be seen holding her hands up in an innocent manner, as the words “God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas” appear, with an umbrella and laughing emojis.
