Midwest princess Chappell Roan did it again. She used fashion to transport herself to another time on Thursday night, looking positively Elizabethan at The Daily Front Row’s Fashion Awards in Los Angeles.

Never one to shy away from dramatic flair, the singer wore a floral mini dress from McQueen’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection with large, sculptural and bulbous sleeves. But the true focus of the dress, which was made of jacquard and organza, was the unmissable ruff collar that grazed the tip of her nose. Roan paired the frock by Creative Director Seán McGirr with sheer, lace tights and black pointe-toe heels. Her hair and makeup were similarly bold—with her signature brushed-out red hair, a cat eye that extended to the tear duct, and pencil-thin eyebrows á la Clara Bow. Her longtime stylist, Genesis Webb, was behind this look.

Her Daily Front Row Fashion Awards red carpet ensemble was in line with her overall aesthetic, which veers toward the vintage and edge. After all, it was only last summer when Roan dressed up as Marie Antoinette at Lollapalooza—powdered wig and all. She stunned in a medieval-inspired look from Y/Project at last year’s VMAs, which included a velvet robe, an earth-toned sheer gown, and a sword. And this year, she shut things down in archival Jean Paul Gaultier Couture at the Grammys.

The star’s sophomore album, not yet titled, has been heavily anticipated by fans since her Saturday Night Live performance of hit single, “The Giver,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in March. Roan has not said much about the project, but did share some cheeky billboard ads for "The Giver" on Instagram last month.

In a recent episode of Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen, the singer also revealed that, despite the country sound of “The Giver,” she is “not switching genres or anything.” In the meantime, she can celebrate that the hit “Casual” from her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess just hit the top of Billboard’s Top Movie Songs chart after being featured in the action-comedy Novocaine starring Jack Quaid.
