Drilling into Exterior Chimney

Hey everyone! My wife and I have been having fun gardening this Spring and bought a vining native honeysuckle to climb up our chimney. We opted out of having a traditional trellis and learned these plants do very well on wire supports. I was wondering if there is any potential cause for concern if we drilled into the exterior fireplace (maybe 1.5inches), placed eye screws, and hung galvanized wire for our plant. If you look closely, it appears that our previous owner drilled into the mortar and placed hangers so I can’t imagine this will be the biggest deal, but figured I’d reach out to Reddit. Any help appreciated! submitted by /u/yungrandyroo [link] [comments]
