At Ferragamo, models glided through beds of roses, enveloped in sweeping coats and ethereal gowns to bring romance to Milan Fashion Week. For its Fall/Winter 2025 collection, creative director Maximilian Davis deepened his exploration of movement and dance for the luxury house, drawing inspiration from the expressive artistry of iconic dance choreographer Pina Bausch.

Roses and floral motifs took center stage, paying homage to Bausch’s evocative use of nature in her productions. Gowns were adorned with delicate petal embroideries, while floral appliqués gracefully adorned footwear, adding a poetic touch. A refined palette of red, black, white, and tan grounded the collection, with bold use of fur coats throughout.

Perhaps the most striking pieces of the collection were the blazers, adorned with the signature slouching buckle detail from the Hug bag. Davis seamlessly wove this iconic design element into the collection, reimagining it as an unexpected embellishment on sleeves. Another standout emerged in the form of a fiery red dress, its feather-like texture adding both visual and tactile intrigue to the collection. The interplay of movement and texture echoed the collection’s overarching theme, ensuring that each look felt as dynamic as it was refined.

Dramatic necklines and sweeping silhouettes further heightened the romanticism of the collection, while sheer gowns and sculptural wraps introduced a sensuality that felt both modern and timeless, a testament to Davis’s ability to balance elegance with motion.
