Filmmaker George Miller who recently renewed popular success with Mad Max franchise has teased that there might just be a new sequel in progress.Recently speaking with Vulture, Miller expressed plans of an upcoming Mad Max sequel. He rebooted the franchise in 2015 with Mad Max: Fury Road and last year, released the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga which starred Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth and more. The Oscar winning director teased fans of a new installment in the franchise, stating to the publication that "if for whatever reason the planets align," the project is a go. He continued, "We've got another script. — not only in my head, but in the form of screenplays or at least very detailed notes that are within reach of screenplays. I'm a professional daydreamer, really. This was seen as my big deficit as a kid: 'George would do better at school if he didn’t daydream so much' was on my report card."Miller commented in regards to the storyline of the franchise and where it can go in the future, "So, there's lots of stories. Indeed, one of them is a Mad Max. It is not something I would do next, because there's two things '’m keen to do next. But if for whatever reason the planets align, you can never tell. Too often, you're lining up to do a movie and then something happens. Some things fall into place and some don't, so all I can say is we’ll see." In Fury Road, Tom Hardy played the titular road warrior who was previously enslaved help Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa escape Hugh Keays-Byrne's tyrannical Immortan Joe and his five captive wives. The sequel also saw Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoë Kravitz and Courtney Eaton star in the film. Last year, Taylor-Joy took over Theron's role.
