Having trouble sealing drain on homemade copper basin sink
I had the great idea of creating a cool looking laundry room sink sunken into a stone countertop. My problem is the basin is so thin that the drain I have won’t seal tightly against it. I have tried firm rubber as well as standard rubber drain washers and it continues to leak around. The hole is 2” exactly so I’m also pretty sure I made the hole a tiny bit too big. I would love someone’s advice on how they might address draining this basin. Another problem related to my inexperience is the fact that the floor of the basin I used is completely flat and not completely level so water won’t drain completely out of it. If I can get the drain sorted out my plan is just to level out the bottom with a clear epoxy pour so it’s higher than the lip of the drain so water will run into it. I would love any feedback you might have on that idea as well. Because I was impatient with the tile, the whole thing is already grouted in and I would hate to pull it out and start over! submitted by /u/berklicious [link] [comments]
