How to unlock Mizutsune in Monster Hunter Wilds

Mizutsune is a new monster added to Monster Hunter Wilds as part of Title Update 1.

This pretty monster looks like a cross between a serpent, fox, and dragon. Whatever it is, you need to fight if it you want to make the super adorable Mizutsune armor sets in the game.

How to unlock Mizutsune in Monster Hunter Wilds

To unlock Mizutsune, you need to be Hunter Rank 21 or above, have beaten the main story campaign of the game, and reached High Rank. Once you hit that rank, go to the Scarlet Forest and talk to Kanya, the fisher. You can find her in her usual spot by the pond in the Scarlet Forest basecamp.

Talk to her and ask, “What is it, fisherfellow” and she’ll tell you about a mysterious monster disturbing the local fishing spots.

Once she’s done talking, the game will automatically start the “Spirit in the Moonlight” quest. From there you can follow Kanya and she’ll take you directly to Mizutsune and you can fight it. After you beat it, Mizutsune will be available as a monster you can fight from then on out.
