Is this wrong? Pebble Dash advice
Thinking of removing the pebbles at the least, and then giving it a coat of silicon render. Did the vinegar test, it fizzed a little. Is that enough to confirm its line based, or can someone tell me what the base is actually made up of by looking at the pic. It’s very easy to just scrape off. If I keep scraping with a bolster chisel, i would eventually work my way to brick. Now for silicon rendering, what are the next steps required for a damp proof flat perfect finish. Do I need to prime the base with something first (after pebbles have been removed) then go ahead with a top coat of render, or are there other steps required first. There’s metal beads (rusting) in the corners already, worth replacing these too? And one last question, before adding the top coat, would I need to apply a render mesh? Appreciate all the help, want to tackle this myself or at least some of it anyway to bring the cost down. Trialing this little wall on my own first to see how it goes. Thank you!
