Mercedes-Benz Unveils All-Electric GLC

Mercedes-Benz is taking its best-selling SUV into the electric era with the all-new GLC, a battery-powered evolution of its popular model. Equipped with the brand’s latest EQ technology, the all-electric GLC aims to reach new heights in efficiency, range and charging speed, while maintaining the luxury and versatility expected from the German marque.Before hitting the streets, the electric GLC has proven its resilience and performance in some of the world’s most extreme environments. Camouflaged prototypes were put through their paces in Arjeplog, Sweden, enduring subzero temperatures, ice-covered roads and treacherous snow tracks. Despite these challenges, the GLC’s advanced 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and intelligent torque distribution technology ensured superior traction, stability and confidence behind the wheel.“Our new electric GLC is a car without compromises,” said Christoph Starzynski, Vice President of Overall Vehicle Development & Integration at Mercedes-Benz Group AG. “During winter testing in Sweden, it demonstrated its reliability and robustness even under extreme conditions.”Underpinning the new GLC’s performance is an 800-volt architecture, enabling ultra-fast DC charging at over 320 kW and improved efficiency in cold climates. A heat pump maximizes energy use, preserving range while keeping passengers comfortable.
