Mycelia, a game about the friendly kind of fungus, is on sale

I, for one, am sick of the harmful stereotypes of mushrooms perpetuated in the media. If you’d like to play an awesome game that offers a more authentic and friendly fungus experience, Mycelia is currently on sale at Amazon for its lowest price ever. Usually $39.99, this winner of Austria’s 2024 Spiel der Spiele (Game of the Year) award, is discounted to just $21.98.

Designed for up to four players, Mycelia is a thematic, family-friendly deck-building game where players compete against each other to remove dew drops from the forest, represented by tokens on a modestly-sized grid. This is accomplished by assembling a roster of adorable mushroom characters, which can be expanded by spending currency earned in-game. Each character affects the board differently by either moving or removing dewdrops and expanding potential actions for your turn. The simple, but engaging gameplay is a great family game, thanks largely to the extensive use of diagrams and pictures, which make reading an optional skill for younger players.
