New glue down vinyl floor will be LOWER than previously installed floor. What to do about kitchen cabinets?
Looking for some advice on what to do in this situation. My kitchen cabinets are sitting on top of my current floor (first 3 pictures). My new floor will be slightly lower than the previously installed vinyl sheet with particle board backing (fourth pic). I want to avoid having to pull my cabinets and lower them as it is a big job and will make my current backsplash look odd and I may not have clearance for my dishwasher if I did. Is there a way to keep the cabinets in place while replacing the flooring without it looking odd where the cabinets meet the new flooring? Unfortunately the kitchen is the only part of the entire floor that is raised like this. Everywhere else I am replacing the flooring, it is down to the subfloor as the rest was floating laminate and carpet that I have recently removed. I don’t want to have to bring the rest of the floor up to the level of the kitchen because that be a huge job in itself. submitted by /u/Harrybeatz [link] [comments]
