Old dishwasher was leaking

Ok, so, found out our old dishwasher was leaking. Pulled it out, saw some damage. Decided to cut away some of the drywall that was behind the dishwasher (Image 1). You can see the fan tat we set there at an attempt to dry it allout. Which, we did succeed a bit. HOWEVER, as you can see in image 2 and 3, I went a step further and cut more away to check. As you can see in image 3, its much worse. I'm fairly certain it came from the drain hose of the dishwasher and leaked out. Regardless. That bottom 2×4 on that side is rotted out. I'm sure it's just as bad on the other 2×4 that juts up against it that goes along the kitchen sink. My question is, would it be worthwhile to pull the other trim piece and all that drywall and replace it all or just along the edge, match it up etc. And how difficult would it be to pull that 2×4 and replace sections as it has 2×4s as support on top of it all. I am not one to do stuff like this myself but here we are.... Any and all advice is appreciated. submitted by /u/Astuur [link] [comments]
