Raye Stuns in a Fiery Red Vivienne Westwood Gown at the 2025 Oscars
The British singer looks regal ahead of her debut and highly anticipated performance during the ceremony.

Raye arrived at the 2025 Academy Awards, and she’s usually hard to miss, and that was as true as ever on Sunday night. For her Oscars debut, the British singer chose a fiery red, floor-sweeping Vivienne Westwood gown that perfectly complemented the carpet.
Styled by Lauren Anne Groves, the dress features a dramatic cowl neckline, a corseted bodice, and elegant draping that accentuates her curves. Its off-the-shoulder design framed her upper body on the red carpet, while a diamond ruby teardrop necklace and a sparkling diamond bracelet added the finishing touch. Her look draws comparisons to the red-hot ensemble Taylor Swift wore to the 2025 Grammys last month. But Raye's gown, with its longer length, channels something a bit more Old Hollywood than Swift's mini dress.
Raye is having a breakthrough year—and for good reason. She earned three Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical), and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical). Her electrifying performance at the ceremony brought the audience to their feet. Just yesterday, she took home the BRIT Award for Best R&B Act, marking her seventh overall win and second in the category. Beyond her own music, Raye has penned hits for fellow Brits Charli XCX and Little Mix, as well as John Legend and Beyoncé, contributing to the latter’s Grammy-winning album Cowboy Carter.
In lieu of performances by those in the running for Best Original Song, Raye is set to take the stage at the ceremony for the first time. She’ll be performing alongside Blackpink’s Lisa and Doja Cat, with the former making history as the first K-pop act to perform at the Academy Awards. Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are expected to open the show, with Queen Latifah also in the performance lineup. All performers will “participate in showstopping performances celebrating the filmmaking community and some of its legends,” as per the Academy in a press release.
And if Raye’s previous performances are any indication, this will be one of her best yet.
