Take a Look at the 2025 BRIT Award Winners
The BRIT Awards is undoubtedly the biggest British music event of the year. It's a time to celebrate the best British music, from dance and R&B music to UK rap, grime, and alternative. The event was held on Saturday (March 1) and a slew of awards were handed out, with the likes of Charli XCX, Stormzy, Raye, and more taking home the Gabriel Moses-designed trophy.Charli XCX dominated the evening and completed her transformation from underground hero to global superstar by winning five awards, including best artist, album, and song of the year. Meanwhile, Ezra Collective, Sam Fender, Stormzy, and best new artist The Last Dinner Party were the other big British winners on Saturday night. Fontaines DC and Chappell Roan also bagged international awards. The night also included a performance from pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, who was handed the global success award at London'a 02 Arena. Additionally, the arena fell silent near the show's end for a moving video tribute to the late Liam Payne, who passed away last October.Another stand-out moment from the evening came from Myles Smith -- named the BRITs Rising Star -- who said: "I was a kid raised by a single mum on free school meals in a state school that only had instruments because of government-backed schemes. And I’m somehow here, a four-time BRIT nominee, a graduate from a Russell Group university, and having the biggest hit single of 2024."But tonight, whilst I have the attention of the nation, and this award which gives me this really cool speaking power, I want to ask three questions. My first is to the government – if British music is one of the most powerful cultural exports we have, why have we treated it like an afterthought for so many years? How many more venues need to close, how many music programs need to be cut before we realize that we can’t just celebrate success, we have to protect the foundations that make it.”Check out the full list of BRIT Award winners below.British Album of the YearCharli XCX – Brat (winner)The Cure – Songs of a Lost WorldDua Lipa – Radical OptimismEzra Collective – Dance, No One’s WatchingThe Last Dinner Party – Prelude to EcstasySong of the YearCharli xcx feat.
