Tips to mount a bookshelf on a wooden slat wall panel?
I am mounting a couple of acoustic wooden slat wall panels on a wall. I'm not going to kit them but mount them with screws. I'll put a couple of planed battens (horizontally) on the wall first, to leave a bit of space for all kind of cabling i want to be invisible. To give an idea: https://i.imgur.com/wojhvUl.png (without the empty space on top ofcourse) My main concern is a bookshelf i want to mount on the wooden slat wall, at round 1.40m height. I can make sure to put 1 of the planed battens at that height, so the bookshelf can be mounted in it, but i will have to go through the wooden panels, right? The reason for that is that i want to run LED strips on both sides from bottom to top, stick them between 2 of the wooden slats. The bookshelf is not going to be loaded heavily. 2 speakers and some (fake) plants etc. I'm far from the greatest DIY'er, so any tips are welcome! submitted by /u/RedSkyNL [link] [comments]
