Under cabinet halogen light replacements
I have a home built in 2005. The under cabinet light fixtures are falling apart and need to be replaced. The current lights are surface mounted (puck type) and operate on 12 volts AC (I measured this). I believe the bulbs are halogen but they are unmarked so that is just a guess. The wall switch is on/off type that switches 120 volts. No dimmer. There is a rather large transformer mounted above my cabinets that has a label that shows the transformer has 12 vac output … so I assume this is the stepdown transformer for my five under cabinet lights. I am looking for an easy solution to replacing the fixtures and lights. Ideally something that is also surface mounted and capable of accepting 12 vac wiring. Are there any LED replacements for my setup? I have done a lot of Amazon searching and all I am finding is 12DC LED and a few 110 VAC options. submitted by /u/drm200 [link] [comments]
