What’s the best way to fix this?

I just recently moved into my parents place to cover their mortgage while they care for my grandmother, and their bathroom has a giant hole in it that ants walk through (high activity due to a bait being placed). My question is what is the best way to patch this hole up? Should I try to stint the two pieces back together and spackle over or do I need to cut it out and put a big patch? I’m looking for cheap and simple options as I am not very handy and don’t have money to revamp a bathroom that isn’t technically mine, just trying to plug a hole to increase my QOL. I know the ants are probably getting through an outlet that’s on the outside wall but I’m not sure how/ if I want to fix that, they’ve kind of let the whole house waste away, I’m just tired of ants getting into my bathroom submitted by /u/Straight-Page4710 [link] [comments]
