VALORANT veteran Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo announced earlier today that he was leaving Sentinels after four years on the team.

On X (formerly Twitter), TenZ sent a message to fans: “I’m sure most of you have seen now and yes, I have parted ways with Sentinels. It was an amazing ride and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything else.”

Why Is TenZ Leaving Sentinels?

TenZ was one of the first well-known VALORANT players, having changed to Riot’s tactical shooter in 2020 after a career in Counter-Strike. While playing on loan for Sentinels, TenZ became one of the first rosters to win a VALORANT Masters event after a victory at Masters Reykjavik in 2021. The team continued to find success, winning VALORANT Masters Madrid in 2024.

Later that year, TenZ announced that he was going to retire from competitive VALORANT and would become a content creator for Sentinels. At the time, TenZ explained that he had ‘a lot of stuff’ he wanted to do outside of the game that he felt ‘very ambitious about.’ He has currently amassed over 6.5 million followers across Twitch and YouTube.

Now, TenZ is leaving Sentinels altogether. In his tweet, the FPS star claimed he was ‘excited for this new chapter’ but he didn’t specify exactly what his plans were. The VALORANT community, including fellow pro players, responded with sadness over TenZ departure, but seemed curious to know what was next.

Meanwhile, Sentinels hasn’t announced anything on their end. Sentinels currently has a full competitive roster but it’s possible the organisation could sign a new streamer.
