On May 6th, Adidas partnered with Xociety, an on-chain shooter RPG built on Sui Network (SUI), to introduce a limited collection of in-game NFT mystery boxes containing character skins.
The partnership marks Adidas’ new venture into blockchain-based interactive environments and introduces branded clothing and accessories into the Web3 gaming space.
According to the official release, 2,600 NFTs will be sold in the form of mystery boxes, each priced at $129. The launch is scheduled for May 16th, 2025, and it will be available on Tradeport, a Sui Network marketplace.
Mystery Boxes to Feature Adidas-Branded Digital Wearables and Tokens
Each mystery box will contain a selection of Adidas-themed digital clothing items such as tops, lowerwear, and sneakers for Xociety avatars, with designs varying by rarity from Uncommon to First.
In addition to the wearables, the boxes include authenticity certificates and an allocation of XCS tokens. These tokens are tied to Xociety’s revenue-sharing mechanism and also represent shareholder-like positions within the game’s ecosystem.

Players will be able to use the wearables directly in the PvE and PvP combat scenarios within the Xociety’s gaming environment.
Notably, the tokenized wearables NFTs can be traded on marketplaces following the drop; however, the release does not feature any physical items.
The mystery boxes will be available for purchase on the Sui NFT platform, Tradeport, until May 23.
The most exclusive, first-tier boxes will feature all eight Adidas skin sets, while the Uncommon-tier boxes will contain three sets. Each set includes a digitally wearable Adidas-branded top, bottom, and sneakers for players’ avatars.
Adidas NFTs Enter Gameplay as Xociety Advances Through Global Playtesting
The partnership also includes functionality for Adidas’ ALTS NFTs. As stated earlier, these digital assets can now be used as wearable avatar items in the game, thus marking a shift from earlier Adidas Web3 efforts, which mostly focused on collections and had no in-game utility.
Xociety’s developers confirmed that ALTS holders will be able to utilize their NFTs within the game, although the integration remains cosmetic and has no effect on the gameplay performance or mechanics.
Xociety is scheduled to host its next playtest on May 15 via the Epic Games Store. The studio previously secured $7.5 million in funding last summer to support the game’s development.
According to an earlier report from Xociety, over 12,000 players participated in early access testing across 64 countries.
The majority of players were based in Asia, followed by users from South America and Europe, respectively. Built on the Sui blockchain, the game continues to explore additional features tied to tokenized assets and player governance.
