Tournament organiser BLAST and the All England Lawn Tennis Club will host the 2025 edition of Wimbledon eChamps.
The tennis esports event will feature two tournaments, featuring mobile tennis title Tennis Clash and PlayStation 5 (PS5) game TopSpin 2K25.
The event, presented in collaboration with American Express, will feature two stages, including online qualifiers and a LAN competition held at the All England Club in Wimbledon. Qualifiers for Tennis Clash and TopSpin 2K25 events opened on July 9th, 2025.
Top players from the qualifiers will earn a spot at the LAN event, taking place from July 18th to 19th. Alongside fighting to be crowned champion of their respective title, players can also win tickets to The Wimbledon Championships and the British Summer Time music festival.
“We were delighted that last year’s Wimbledon eChamps received such an incredible reception from fans around the world,” said Usama Al-Qassab, Marketing and Commercial Director at the All England Club.
“The addition of the Tennis Clash mobile game means we can give more members of the gaming community the opportunity to qualify for the in-person finals hosted at the All England Club in July.”
Specifically, the Wimbledon eChamps presented by American Express will be run by tournament organiser BLAST. Moreover, this isn’t the first time BLAST has collaborated with the All England Club. The tournament organiser worked on the event’s inaugural edition, which took place in July 2024.
Tennis And Its Esports Ambitions
The Wimbledon eChamps returning for a second year is a sign of Tennis wanting to become the latest traditional sport to capitalise on the popularity of esports to expand its audience.
In addition to the All England Club, other clubs are hosting their own esports events that coincide with the real-world Grand Slams. In March, the French Tennis Federation hosted the seventh edition of the Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault, a tournament that has taken place since 2018.
