Can you attach new framing to existing studs through drywall/plaster?
We're in the process of renovating our kitchen and plan to add a corner pantry. With a few adjustments to dimensions, I'll be able to line the sides of the pantry up with studs in the existing surrounding walls of the kitchen. My question is, can I secure the sides where the pantry walls meet the existing studs through plaster/drywall, or do I need to expose the studs? I've tried searching online and seen a mixed bag of answers. submitted by /u/almond-milkman [link] [comments]
