Eric Koston Reveals the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 "Varsity Red"
Update: Two successors to 2023's hit Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 "Pine Green" collaboration have surfaced as rumors in recent years. Now, we finally have clarification that the long-discussed "Navy" pair is being released to the public (and just dropped early at NBA All-Star Weekend) while this "Varsity Red" pair is strictly for friends and family. Eric Koston confirmed the latter detail via Instagram, where he revealed the design. As with the "Navy" pair, the SB-oriented version of the AJ4 has seen its "Pine Green" colorway only slightly tweaked -- trading out its signature green for red. Nike SB branding is visible at the heel once again as this "Varsity Red" take on the collab will elude almost all collectors due to its extra limited distribution status. Enjoy the first look at the pair above and stay tuned for more updates regarding the project.Original Story: Nike SB and Jordan Brand scored a smash hit with the launch of their first "collaborative" Air Jordan 4 in 2023 — a model that skate-ified Michael Jordan's fourth signature sneaker with enhanced padding, increased grip and rubber accents. Since then, rumors of new colorways have been swirling, and the latest to get the rumor mill going is a "Varsity Red" Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 that's speculated to touch down in spring 2025.At the time of writing, no images of the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 "Varsity Red" are available (pictured above is a mock-up from zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files). However, if this reported release follows a similar color scheme as its predecessor it'll boast a base made of white leather and grey suede, with the titular accents arriving via heel tabs, midsoles and eyestays. Of course, a Nike SB hit will replace the standard Nike Air branding on the heel tab as well. It's worth noting that Nike has been pumping up the "cross-brand" collaborations for SB as well. Besides the aforementioned — and potentially forthcoming — Air Jordan 4s, SB has also met Nike Sportswear via a recently leaked Nike SB Air Force 1 Low.Though we're still awaiting official release confirmation, the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 "Varsity Red" may release during the spring 2025 season and retail for $225 USD.
