Feather finish to smooth out floors before laminate

Hello DIYers, I am closing on a house in a few weeks. The floors are a stamped concrete made to look like rough wood planks. The "planks" are about 8 inches wide and 72 inches long with a 1/4 inch gap between planks on the side and 1/2 inch at the end, that are perhaps 1/8 inch deep . My wife says they will be impossible to keep clean, so I am going re-floor with laminate or engineered hardwood. I personally don't dislike them, but happy wife, happy life. My plan is to grind down any high spots, then use Ardex Feather finish on the gaps to ensure a smooth level substrate. Does this sound reasonable to y'all? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Top_Kaleidoscope_902 [link] [comments]
